The Texas A&M University Libraries and the Texas A&M women’s basketball team are partnering for the “Bookmark Game,” Sunday, Feb. 23, to promote success on and off the court in a Southeastern Conference showdown vs. the University of Kentucky.

Over 7,000 bookmarks have been distributed to 15 elementary schools in Bryan Independent School District for the first-ever Bookmark Game at Texas A&M. The bookmarks are redeemable for one free ticket to the game by claiming each ticket at, or by presenting the bookmark at the Reed Arena box office the day of the game. Tickets will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.

The Aggie women’s basketball team has been volunteering with elementary students in Bryan ISD since the fall. The Bookmark Game provides a timely opportunity at no charge for the students to see their mentors playing the game they love. Through the partnership between the Libraries and women’s basketball team, students are able to learn firsthand how success off the court transpires to success on the court.

The Libraries also produced a souvenir poster featuring members of the women’s basketball team preparing for a winning game plan at the Libraries, which will be available for free in the concourse of Reed Arena before the game while supplies last. Free copies of the poster are also available at Sterling C. Evans Library, West Campus Library, Medical Sciences Library and Policy Sciences & Economics Library.

Sunday’s match-up between No. 15 Kentucky and No. 16 Texas A&M is scheduled to tip-off at 1:00 p.m. on ESPN2, and will be a rematch of the 2013 SEC Tournament Championship game—which the Aggies won 75–67.
