Celebrate Fall Semester at Libraries Open House Aug. 21

Marketing and Communications | August 16, 2013

As part of Texas A&M University’s Gig ‘Em Week 2013, the Texas A&M University Libraries will hold an Open House from 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 21. The Open House will take place on the ground floor of Sterling C. Evans Library, where students will learn more about core library services such as AskUs, Media and Reserves and Get it for Me, while also collecting Libraries giveaways. After visiting informational stations, students will be treated to a free lunch and the Libraries’ 2013 “Home away from Home” maroon T-shirt.

On the concourse outside of Evans Library, students can enjoy Freezie Pops courtesy of the University Writing Center, be able to take a souvenir photo in our photo booth, and participate in a live, on-site radio broadcast from Candy 95, featuring popular morning-show DJ, Frito. Candy 95 will also be giving out special prizes, including several gift certificates from Chef Tai’s Mobile Bistro truck (“America’s Favorite Food Truck” according to Food Network), which will be parked next to the Pavilion during the Open House.

Additional entertainment will be provided on the concourse by the Order of Aggie Illusionists and Freudian Slip Improvisational Comedy Troupe—both recognized student organizations at Texas A&M University.

The Libraries expects to host over 2000 students during the Open House.
