The Texas A&M University Libraries has named Michael Barrett and Linda Bair as 2012 Louise Davis Memorial Staff Award recipients during its awards and scholarships program on April 12. Barrett, library associate in electronic resources, and Bair, library associate in Media and Reserves, received the awards for emulating the workplace ideals of dedication, zeal, perseverance, commitment and excellence in job performance.

Co-workers and nominators of Michael Barrett praised his exceptional knowledge of library computer programming and his ability to create programs that significantly improve the library's work processes in technical services. Library patrons and co-workers alike cited Linda Bair's commitment to growth and expansion of services, particularly the check-out services for Rosetta Stone and Kindles.

James W. Davis '37, who worked in the Sterling C. Evans Library following his retirement as extension dairy specialist, established the Davis Awards in 1993 in memory of his wife Louise.
