READ Campaign Spotlights Aggie Stars
Marketing and Communications | November 07, 2010
The Texas A&M University Libraries are spotlighting Aggie “stars” in a series of posters for the Libraries’ READ campaign. The three READ campaign posters feature Reveille and the Yell Leaders with their favorite books. The campus campaign is part of a national program by the American Library Association (ALA), whose posters highlight athletes, stars, writers and even literary figures, such as Harry Potter.
“We have our own campus celebrities with Reveille and the Yell Leaders, and we wanted to showcase them in our poster series,” explained Robin Bedenbaugh, head of Marketing and Communication at the University Libraries. “The READ campaign promotes reading and using the library--making it part of the Aggie experience, like football or Midnight Yell,” she added.
Posters are available free at all campus libraries beginning Nov. 8, 2010. The University Libraries will release additional posters during the spring semester and sponsor a contest where students can vote for their favorite poster personality.
